Trump is Impeached… Or Is He…?

While Nancy Pelosi’s reluctance to hand over articles of impeachment to the Senate isn’t surprising, based on their vague and flimsy foundations, not doing so could render the impeachment invalid altogether.

Not only would impeachment not pass in the Senate, the trial would allow Republicans to call witnesses, something the Democrats have restricted them from doing during the house hearings.

“Impeachment as contemplated by the Constitution does not consist merely of the vote by the House, but of the process of sending the articles to the Senate for trial.”

“If the House does not communicate its impeachment to the Senate, it hasn’t actually impeached the president. If the articles are not transmitted, Trump could legitimately say that he wasn’t truly impeached at all.”
